A quick break from my Buffy rewatch posts, where I am still right near the beginning in Season 1; I am also avidly reading the Season 11 comics. Things have taken a very serious turn for Buffy and all her supernatural friends and foes.
While I don’t wish to go into too much detail and reveal spoilers, the current series has a sharp political edge and provides an unnerving warning for current times. Fear and intolerance has led to a backlash against the magical. Buffy, Spike and Willow currently reside in an internment camps for supernatural beings.
While some may find comics less appealing than TV, the plot is gripping and increasingly relevant. The comic’s charms also lie in neat references to Buffy’s past, always rewarding to long term fans…
